Golden Earrings’ (before the name was shortened to Golden Earring) “Sound Of The Screaming Day”, The Shoes “Don’t You Cry For A Girl” and The Cats’ “Times Were When” conclude Side A. Continuing on Side B with Sandy Coast’s “Capital Punishment”, the blues influenced Livin’ Blues’ “Wang Dang Doodle”, Brainbox’s “To You”, Earth and Fire’s “Storm And Thunder” and concluding with the symfonic rock from Kayak’s “Mammoth.
The compilation highlights music from the forthcoming new vinyl albums in The Golden Years of Dutch Pop Music. Dutch bands that were not only ground-breaking and successful in the sixties and seventies in The Netherlands but also far beyond the Dutch borders. Each double album collects the most important original a-sides and a selection of b-sides. Where possible the albums are completed with relevant album tracks and English liner notes.
